You’re probably the one with road rage.

I know it’s usually closer than the camera shows, but they seem to honk really excessively. I mean I don’t endorse jaywalking, but honking at people who are almost across a street that you’ve just turned on to is pretty unimpressive. Or someone clearly hurrying who wasn’t even in the way.

Yeah, as a dashcam user myself I get just how much further away the video makes stuff look, but having watched many of this guy’s videos, he’s still an ass. He constantly calls police and companies who own vehicles, chews out other road users and pedestrians, leaves notes on cars, etc. This on top of the insane amount of honking.

This guy is infuriating. If you need to justify that much of your video you might want to rethink your intentions.

Plus the disguised voice. He claims it’s because several angry local business owners have tried to “out” him. I don’t blame them.

Me either. I think if I was any of those pedestrians I would've reported him to the cops.

I don’t know.
I guess I approve of some of the driver’s reactions in the video, but in some of the situations I would have reacted differently
But now you’ve got me wondering: What exactly is road rage? If your anger is justifiable, and you restrain yourself from doing something wrong, does that count as road rage?

I’ve always thought of “road rage” as a blanket term for any wrongful action taken against another user of the roadway . That is to say, the wrongful action is already illegal to some extent.
So while flipping the bird is rude yet harmless, brake checking and disrupting traffic is reckless/careless driving, and therefore road rage. I am 100% okay with sounding the horn at such drivers.

It depends. I honk plenty, and with the slow driver and the guy refusing to turn I too might’ve flipped out a little. But honking and yelling at every single jaywalker, even once they are out of your way, seems silly. I watch some of the videos this guy does. For every one genuine idiot he captures, it seems like there’s another one that’s a huge overreaction to a minor thing. Plus, he calls companies, calls the cops, leaves notes, and as I said, chews people out all the time. All those things are occasionally justifiable, but he does them frequently.

jesus. Yeah he’s one of the dashcammers I don’t exactly follow, to really does just seem like a bunch of looking for trouble and stuff to get mad at

Yeah, I don’t watch his videos regularly, I don’t need that much stress in my life. Some of the (SoCal, South Carolina, and a couple of the Texas ones) are pretty entertaining. This? Not so much.

I agree. It really depends on the situation in question.
It’s very important for all parties involved to understand the difference between red and green, and how right-of-way works. If you’re the one who screws up, “fuck you” is not the response to be making toward whomever called you out on it. You learn from your mistake and try not to do the same thing again.

Depending on the location, sounding the horn might be just as illegal. I’m pretty sure here it’s only supposed to be used to prevent an accident, by city ordinance. Which I’d like to go pedestrian-rage at every lazyass who double-parks and leans on the horn to give someone a ride at 6:30am. But that’s just me!

I wasn’t aware that sounding the horn could even be illegal. I guess I better double-check what my state has to say about it before I slip up.
I know some drivers who tap theirs just to say “hi, neighbor” when passing by a friend’s house. I never really thought that was wise. I’m okay with using it from the driveweay, when picking someone up, but that is one of the very few non traffic-offense-related uses of the horn I’m comfortable with.
EDIT: I’m glad I checked. Michigan requires that use of the horn be safety-related only, like when a driver veers out of their lane toward your car. I learned something today; thanks for the heads up!

We had a bit of an issue in the neighborhood with early ride-givers and a newborn baby so someone went on an educational campaign. I think the horn/safety ordinances are probably newer than many of our licenses, though.

Holy hell that guys is liberal with his horn. It's hilarious how he thinks he totally in the right, but he's always honking his horn at people. Use your horn to scare the shit out of people, not yell at them.
